Plays with Christian Messages
For Youth
|
General Plays for Youth
|
| #1 When The
Rain Falls The theme for this play is holding on to your
integrity as a Christian even when you are mistreated. This
takes place in a general store at the turn of the century in the west. |
A. The
Unlegendary Legends of the West covers 75 years of wild
west history with 25 kids with education and fun from this time period.
Each person plays several parts! |
| #2 The Cause Of
It All The theme for this play is priorities and honesty
as Christians. It takes place in the living room of a newspaper editor
who doesn't know his wife is having "Women's Rights to Vote" meetings in his
home. (My favorite!) |
B. Villain,
Villain, Who Caught the Villain?? This is a fun melodrama
full of suspense and action with lots of twists and turns. What is
there really wasn't a villain - but the damsel in distress decided to be her
own villain? |
#3 A Site For
Sore Ears The theme for this play is
how we use our tongue! It takes place during the 1950's -60's when
poodle skirts and soda fountains were popular. Fun characters and
great lines! |
C. The Zany
Cow Kidnapping This takes place in a one room school house
and is full of the unexpected. Fun characters and is one of my
favorites. |
#4 Chairlift to
Heaven The theme for this play is giving God your best and being
willing to share your faith in the face of unfair treatment.
It takes place in modern times when a youth group goes on a ski trip to a
lodge where the owner has an old grudge against the youth pastor. Each
character represents a Proverb from the Bible |
D.
Cruising Into Trouble This takes place on a cruise ship
with a great variety of kids who have won national honors for something!!
What happens, though, when some unexpected passengers (three
comedians) accidentally get booked for the wrong cruise? |
| #5 Return to
Paradise In this play a group of junior high friends
who haven't seen each other for 20 years are reunited at a hotel in Hawaii
owned by their first Sunday School teacher who is about to die. Fire,
floods, and the discovery of why they were brought there keeps the play
moving. Each character represents a parable from the Bible which the
audience can guess at in the program while watching the play. |
E. Letters
From the Homefront Trouble comes to the Ellison's house
during World War II when
their younger daughter and her friends try to help the war effort with
disastrous results! Full of fun and suspense. A real tribute to
our soldiers and how we can serve and thank them. |
| WE PUT THE TWO SHORT PLAYS TO THE RIGHT

Dude Ranch for Sale (Cow Pies Included)
-The audiences LOVED this mystery/comedy play.
Costumes are easy as it takes place at a summer camp held at a dude ranch.
This is a full length play for kids 10-18 including 27 parts with campers,
counselors, ranch staff and an eccentric lawyer from New York and her fickle
secretary who are trying to sell the ranch. |
|
These plays have been put on in two week summer
drama workshops as well as school projects where we allowed
two and a half months for
practices. |
J.
Horsin' Around - This is about a 25 minute play for kids
6-12 which allows two parts for each participant. It traces fun characters
from the wild west and the audience gets to decide if the characters are
based on legend or if the character is "horsin' around" with his/her story.
