Creative Youth Theater

About the Director: Christie Miller
Christie has been a drama teacher, director and playwright for
20 years.
Many say they can't believe her patience in working with kids as well as her
creativity to make this a great experience for the cast and the audience as
well.
She
started Creative Youth Theater because she was disturbed by the fact that
most plays have only a few lead parts and then a few very minor parts.
She
wanted all kids to have a chance to shine and to express a
well-developed
character.
Her goal is to provide a safe place for kids to grow in
their
courage and communication skills.
To this end, she usually writes most of
the plays we do so that each actor
has a well-developed character with lines
and fun times on stage.
In addition to directing Creative Youth Theater,
Christie has been an English
Teacher for
26 years and is currently teaching for a
Home School Cooperative called
Zacchaeus Learning Opportunities (ZLO.org)
(with classes for 5th-12th graders).
She is also the director for
Northwest
Christian Speakers Bureau
(www.nwspeakers.com)
where she matches speakers with Christian events.
Through her ministry, Fresh Look Ministry,
she speaks as well all over the
United States
in addition to providing training for speakers.
She has also written several books and workbooks
on Christian
Living and her newest book is called
TRAVEL GUIDE FOR THE CURIOUS
(How the cities on
the I-5 corridor in Washington got their names)
which are
available at
www.FreshLookPublishing.com
Christie has two grown children and lives in Bellingham with
her
husband of 32 years.
